Our innovation and
development projects

After all these years in the market, our experience has allowed us to learn about our customers’ requirements, demanding that we be at the highest level, adapting to the latest trends, and always updating varieties, cultivation systems, product processing and treatment, given that we are pioneers in this area.

We have weather stations for the sustainable and fair use of plants at all times, we have solar panels, and we are constantly working to update and innovate in everything we do.

To this end, we also participate in projects that certify the technological development, innovation and quality research that characterizes our work.

“SWEET BERRIES: DEVELOPMENT OF NEW BERRIES WITH HIGH SUGAR CONCENTRATION”

AROFA has developed the SWEET BERRIES project with the financial support of the European Union through the MULTI-REGIONAL SMART GROWTH OPERATIONAL programme. The objective of this project is to increase the degree of sugar concentration in different varieties of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, through the application of natural extracts. The resulting fruits have high yields and are of high quality. They also have higher added value than those grown using traditional methods. As a result of this project, AROFA is positioned as an international benchmark for the production of high-value-added berries.

“SELECTION OF NEW VARIETIES OF RASPBERRY FOR INDUSTRIAL USE”

AROFA has developed the SELECTION OF NEW VARIETIES OF RASPBERRY FOR INDUSTRIAL USE project, with the financial support of the European Union. It has a submitted project budget of €1,354,682, and a grant of €554,470.00. It will begin in February 2021 and end in May 2023.

The main objective of the project will be the collection of germplasm material and the development of a collection of suitable parental plants that, based on their productive and morphological characteristics and targeted crosses, will express an improvement of the existing varieties by maximizing their brix degrees and dry matter content properties.
